Dr. Kaitlyn Van Strien is a March graduate of Life University Chiropractic College in Marietta, GA, graduating Summa Cum Laude in her class. In 2011, she received her Bachelor's degree in Health Professions from Grand Valley State University in Grand Rapids, MI. Dr. Van Strien grew up in Stevensville, a small beach town located in Southwest Michigan. For as long as she can remember while growing up, she played for the Athletic Jaier Futbol Club, as well as the Southwest Michigan Soccer Club, both competitive travel soccer teams. She also played for her high school Varsity soccer and volleyball teams.

Having Played sports her entire life, Dr. Van Strien has a passion for working out and remaining active. Movement is very important to her and she believes it is imperative to your health, both physically and mentally. She relates this lifestyle philosophy to her chiropractic technique by addressing areas of the spine, as well as extremities, which are not properly moving or are "stuck/subluxated". By delivering a chiropractic adjustment to the "stuck/subluxated" area, she is able to restore motion into that specific area, which in turn allows the entire body to properly move and function as a whole.

Dr. Van Strien also believes in addressing the soft tissue surrounding and connecting each subluxated area. She is ART (Active Release Technique) certified and utilizes this technique along with chiropractic adjustments, which sets her apart from several other chiropractors. The basic premise behind ART is simple, just not easy. It's a patented, state of the art soft tissue system/movement based massage technique created by Dr. P. Michael Leahy, which shortens the tissue, applies a contact tension, then lengthens the tissue or makes it slide relative to the adjacent tissue. This process reestablishes proper motions between muscle and fascia while reducing fibrous adhesions. There are over 500 specific moves which are unique to ART, allowing the provider to identify and correct the specific problems that are affecting each individual patient, and make fast permanent changes to every tissue in the body.

Outside of chiropractic, Dr. Van Strien volunteers at a local yoga studio and takes hot yoga classes there whenever possible. She enjoys spending time outdoors hiking, camping, kayaking, and snowboarding. Animals are a huge love of hers; she has a rescue Plott Hound named Cooper, and plans to complete additional schooling for animal adjusting so she can deliver chiropractic care to animals as well.
